Battery and Sleep
Dynolicious Log Box must be running on an active iPhone or iPod. While Dynolicious Log Box is running your device will not automatically sleep (however you can still force it to sleep by pressing the sleep button).
Running Dynolicious Log Box for long periods of time will consume your battery charge quickly. To conserve battery power you can change a few settings to allow you to create long log sessions:
- You should reduce your sample rate to the minimum rate required for your particular task.
- If location data is not required, you can turn on Airplane Mode to shut off the Wifi and Cell antennas.
- You can reduce the brightness of the display to the minimum
- You can turn off the 3G network on newer iPhones
SECRET HINT: Although the accelerometers and GPS do not run when the iPhone is sleeping, the GPS will record information if your phone is awake, but locked. If you just need occasional GPS logging you can start logging, manually sleep your iPhone, then wake your device (but leave it locked) every time you wish to take a sample.
